| They show quite simply what
can be achieved with this easy-to-use technology given a little "image
processing", a skill used by nearly all amateur astrophotographers involved in other
imaging mediums such as webcams, cooled CCD's and digital SLR cameras. Congratulations to Steve Quirk on this magnificent
result and also on becoming the 4th amateur astronomer in the world to image the infrared
emissions from the night side of planet Venus earlier this month.
And at the recent Queeensland Astrofest
many on-lookers enjoyed live views in stunning detail courtesy of Jon Bradshaw and his
20-inch monster scope with GSTAR attached.
From the GSTAR-EX users group forum Jon
states...
"Well, there is a lot to process, but
for us the big one was the stunning view of the Pillars of Creation live in my TV! Prof
Fred Watson was impressed too, so it must have been OK!!!"
